Derrick Little is a predominantly self-taught visual artist, spirit warrior, photographer, writer, thinker and celebrity face and body painter residing in New York City.
Derrick has produced living art for the event industry in NYC for 10 + years and serves a list of pivate clients ranging from Madonna and Whoopi Goldberg to Donald Trump and Christy Turlington. He makes art with his team of artist assistants for corporate clients including Amscan, Party City, Delta Airlines Milagro Tequila, Pepsi, Chivas Regal, the Central Park Conservancy & dozens of others.
Derrick is a product of the infamous 1990's club scene in New York City, where he experimented with "extreme" makeup while living the life of a club persona and scene-maker. His colorful, living artwork, painted on both children and adults, is influenced by his keen interest in ritual, magic, mysticism as well as his belief that the process of creating art is a natural form of meditation.
Since starting his face and body painting career around 2001, Derrick estimates he has easily and more than likely touched and painted upwards of 175,000 faces to date...but who's counting?
When not painting faces and bodies, Derrick volunteers with the Teen Program of Hour Children as a mentor and artist. Derrick also teaches a meditation class and kundalini yoga class in Brooklyn and Queens. Derrick also moonlights as a practitioner of sacred /therapeutic sounds and plays magical soundbaths to assist in raising the vibration for all his brothers and sisters in and around NYC.
